What is the Rally Two-Step Relay?

First introduced by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a Special Attraction Class at the Obedience Classic in Orlando, Florida in 2022. The AKC has graciously granted permission for the American Chesapeake Club to introduce this event to the public during its 2023 National Show Specialty in Salt Lake City, UT!
The Rally Two-Step Relay is a type of relay through an Excellent level course. The course is designed for two human and dog teams to complete together as a single “team.” Each team member will carry a toy with them, provided by the American Chesapeake Club. The toy serves as a type of “baton” and is exchanged twice during the run (each time the teams meet up to perform an exercise together). Both dogs perform in the ring, off leash (remember, this is an Excellent level course). There will be no jumps or sit-stay on the course, but all other signs (except Master) may be used. The course is scored just like a regular Rally course, on a scale of 100 points. Fun and costumes are encouraged!

The Rally Two-Step Relay will be a Special Attraction Rally Class held after all other AKC Rally Events are complete on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Entry is limited to 10 teams of two dogs and handlers, so register now!

Event fee is $28.00 per team.
